Lessons
K-2 classes are introduced to the Early Childhood shortlisted titles. A different story is read each week, with a corresponding activity as appropriate.
3-6 classes are introduced to the Picture Book shortlisted titles. A different story is read each week, with a different Multiple Intelligences focus. Students create either a Keynote or Pages document. Each week, students choose from a grid of activities and create a new page or slide for their document. At the end of the term, the document is shared with the teacher-librarian for assessment.
All classes complete work on the Book Week theme.
A day of Book Week activities is held during Book Week itself, involving a book character parade, rotating activity sessions and a presentation session.
